چکیده

the two-spotted spider mite, tetranychus urticae koch (acari: tetranychidae) is one of the most important agricultural pests of the world. it causes direct and indirect damage on plants which decreases in photosynthesis and crop yield. the effect of sublethal concentrations of artemisia annua l. (asteraceae) and rosmarinus officinalis l. (lamiaceae) essential oils were assessed on development and reproduction para-meters of two-spotted spider mite t. urticae . lethal and sublethal concentrations were estimated by fumigant bioassay of essential oils on the adults of t. urticae . the raw life history data of all individuals were analyzed according to the age-stage, two-sex life table theory. lc 30 and lc 50 of a. annua (2.908 and 4.14 µl/80 ml air) and r. officinalis (1.339 and 2.006 µl/80 ml air) showed that rosemary essential oil has higher fumigant toxicity against t. urticae . sublethal concentration of the two plant oils led to significant decrease in fecundity, generation time and adult longevity compare to the control. in addition, plant oils decreased the net reproductive rate (r 0 ), intrinsic rate of increase (r), finite rate of increase (λ), and significantly increased doubling time (dt) of t. urticae in compare with control. obtained results indicated that, sublethal concentra-tions of a. annua and r. officinalis oils could influence on biological indices of t. urticae .

Comparative toxicity of Rosmarinus officinalis L. essential oil and blends of its major constituents against Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae) on two different host plants.

Bioassays of Rosmarinus officinalis L. essential oil and blends of its major constituents were conducted using host-specific strains of the two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch, on bean and tomato plants. Two constituents tested individually against a bean host strain and five constituents tested individually against a tomato host strain accounted for most of the toxicity of the na...

temperature effects on development and life table parameters of tetranychus urticae (acari: tetranychidae)

development, reproduction and life table parameters of tetranychus urticae koch were determined on leaves of peach (g. h. hale cultivar) at different temperatures, ranging from 13 to 33°c under laboratory conditions. no development was observed at 13°c. egg-to-adult developmental time decreased gradually from 17 to 27°c and increased at higher temperatures (27 to 33°c). an average of 136.43 deg...

Reproductive parameters of Phytoseiulus macropilis (Banks) fed with Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Phytoseiidae, Tetranychidae) in laboratory.

Predatory mites that belong to the Phytoseiidae family are one of the main natural enemies of phytophagous mites, thus allowing for their use as a biological control. Phytoseiulus macropilis (Banks, 1904) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) is among the main species of predatory mites used for this purpose. Tetranychus urticae Koch, 1836 (Acari: Tetranychidae) is considered to be one of the most important sp...

Thymbra capitata (L.) Cav. and Rosmarinus officinalis (L.) Essential Oils: In Vitro Effects and Toxicity on Swine Spermatozoa.

Essential oils possess a variety of biological properties (i.e., antioxidant, antibacterial, and cytotoxic) that could possibly be applied in reproductive medicine, but their effects on spermatozoa are still partially unknown. The aim of the study was to describe the effects of Thymbra capitata (L.) Cav. and Rosmarinus officinalis (L.) essential oils on the main morpho-functional parameters of ...
